Natalia Barnett’s story
Natalia Barnett’s story is a tragic one. She was adopted from Ukraine by an American couple, who believed she was six years old. It has since emerged that Natalia may have been an adult dwarf suffering from mental health issues, and her adoptive parents have now been charged with child neglect.
It is believed that Natalia was originally from a village in the Chernobyl area of Ukraine. She was living in an orphanage when she was adopted by the Barnetts in 2010. The Barnetts say they were told by Ukrainian officials that she was six years old, although there are no records to confirm this.
