Afterlife in Viking culture
It is a known fact that when Vikings pass away, they believe they will go to Valhalla. Valhalla is the Vikings’ version of heaven or eternal paradise. The belief is that warrior goddesses would search battlefields after a war takes place to look for fallen heroes. The warriors who dried bravely would be carried to Valhalla.

Another place they believe they could end up in the afterlife is Helgafhell. This is where Vikings can end up if they have lived a very fulfilling life. The Vikings also have their own version of hell. They believe that people who died dishonorably will end up in Helheim.
