The Vikings arrived in America before Christopher Columbus
As we mentioned earlier, the Vikings were actually the first to discover America. In fact, they were able to find America about 500 years before Christopher Columbus did. However, there is still no conclusive evidence to establish this.

According to the Vikings, the first group of Europeans that stepped foot on North American soil is a group of Vikings led by Leif Eriksson. He is the son of Erik the Red, a famous traveler who sailed from Iceland to Canada. Erik the Red was the one who established the first European settlement of Greenland.
