Tesla Expects More Sales In 2022

Despite supply chain problems, the electric carmaker Tesla expects a 50% growth in 2022. Recently the chief executive of Tesla Elon Musk opened up about this expectation. The company mentions the supply chain as “the main limiting factor” to growth. They also thought that “which (supply chain issue) is likely to continue through 2022”.

Tesla made a record amount earning $5.5bn in 2020 which rocketed 71% to $53.8bn in 2021. The firm delivered more than 936,000 vehicles to customers. But the company warned that due to supply chain issues, the company has to limit its manufacturing capacity. Elon Musk said that2021 was “a breakthrough year for Tesla, and for electric vehicles in general”. He also said, “While we battled, and everyone did, with supply chain challenges through the year, we managed to grow our volumes by nearly 90% last year.” The CEO mentioned that the growth will be “comfortably above 50%” in 2022.

Tesla has initiated its business in California. Now they are manufacturing cars in China and Texas. They have a factory under construction in Berlin. Car markets are facing a shortage of microchips. But Tesla is in a better position while competitors are slow in production.

Mr. Musk said, “The fully self-driving cars will become the most important source of profitability for Tesla. The cars in the fleet essentially becoming self-driving via a software update might end up being the biggest increase in asset value of any asset class in history, we shall see.”
