Recently Facebook has stopped working for users around the world for several hours. The Facebook authority has apologized for this inconvenience.
Facebook’s explained the situation technically. They said, “configuration changes on the backbone routers that coordinate network traffic between our data centers caused issues that interrupted this communication”. This had a “cascading effect… bringing our services to a halt”.
Facebook use their own larger networks to connect their uses through the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP). BGP allows the users to pick the best route so that the data could travel smoothly. However, Facebook suddenly stopped providing the information the system needed to function.
Explained web infrastructure firm Cloudflare said about the social media outage, “someone had pulled the cables from their data centers all at once and disconnected them from the internet.”
This sudden losing access to Facebook’s services had a significant impact on the businesses that are based on Facebook’s services. Individuals across the globe also faced a huge problem who are using these social media as the means of their communication.
