Innovation At Its Finest, Asus’ Latte Dispenses Movies And Not Coffee

Asus was proud to announce its addition to its line of new tech, the ZenBeam Latte at the CES 2021. To say that it is cute is such an understatement. This machine is a mobile movie projector that looks like a fabric-covered mini-cyclops robot of some sort.

This projector can display a 720p image resolution with the use of up to 300 lumens of LED light making it brighter than Anker’s capsule projectors. A plus to this device, is its integrated 10W Harm Kardon-tuned built-in speaker system.

With regards to its shape, Asus insists on saying that the mobile projector is similar to that of a coffee cup. But to many, of course, it obviously does not. Another aspect that Asus claims is that the ZenBeam Latte is the first ever projector to offer a fabric interior. This is completely false. Xiaomi had come up with this design first. Although, it did not offer the 360 fabric façade like the Latte projector but they had realized the design before anyone in the tech market.

Like all the other mobile projectors, it does not only wirelessly project images, videos and music but you can also connect other devices to it, such as a laptop to project presentations or the usual movie marathons with the family.

While Asus has made many claims that can easily be debunked, future tech makers can use this opportunity to build a device that ticks all the boxes one may look for in a mobile projector such as the very important aspect of battery life. Asus quotes three hours of playback on the projector with a 3,000mAh battery.

Projecting from the device though, the screen can go as wide as 40-inches when you place it a meter away from the projected surface, double that when you put the projector two meters away with a maximum of 120 inches at what we presume is at three meters. Anything further than that, you may have trouble with the quality of the videos and images.

While they have officially introduced the device, Asus says that it is to be released in the US in the second quarter of the year however, details on pricing have yet to be disclosed.
